BLOG08 is about bringing people together who share an interest in blogging. Shock bloggers, probloggers, hobby bloggers, and corporate bloggers, everybody is welcome to inspire each other. Yes, inspiration is the keyword. Let’s share our visions on the future of blogging, connect ideas, and enrich each other with a new way to look at things. Together with Meganova, we - Edial Dekker and Ernst-Jan Pfauth -, have founded BLOG08 to accomplish that.

So really, who are we?

Ernst-Jan was still a student when he started his own blog called Spotlight Effect in 2005, he has been writing for many different weblogs ever since.  While still being very involved with Spotlight Effect he became editor in chief of The Next Web Blog, founded by Meganova. The success of The Next Web Blog and winning a reward for best Marketing weblog of the Netherlands with Spotlight Effect only made him even more eager. Besides being editor in chief of Spotlight Effect and The Next Web Blog, Ernst-Jan is also writing an e-book about blogging and the blogosphere of the Netherlands.

Edial Dekker was studying New Media at the University of Amsterdam for a while, when he suddenly realized he wanted to try out the theories in practice. That was 10 months ago. Since then, he became an editor of award-winning blog Spotlight Effect, founded a mobile start-up called MaptheGap, and initiated the very conference you are looking at now. He managed to build up a significant presence in the Dutch new media scene, both online as offline. And not just because he’s a great cook that organizes fancy dinners.
